LIA Response to blog:
Literal
- You can find the number of hours with the description and all of the required criteria under my essential question on my home screen on my blog or here. The total amount of hours are 215 (both mentorships and summer logged all in one data sheet)
- Max Franco 213.700.8565 (First mentorship)
- Jorge Marquez 626.9910247 (Second Mentorship)
Interpretive
- What I received out of this experience overall was a culmination of working with others, talking to various age groups, and getting to know others who are well aware of the business that is behind in a political campaign. Throughout the course of the year I was taught how to converse with voters, attempt to sell my candidate to registered voters using new technology and data entry, and met really interesting high profile people throughout the process. From Federal, State, and Local leveled offices.
Applied
I have not only gotten a better insight as to what happens behind the scenes in a campaign, but I have seen that it is no easy task. It is a long, extensive, time consuming process that takes up months before the actual Election Day date. I attended several fundraisers, campaign kick-offs, and big volunteer days and saw what happens there. During my second campaign, I was one of a few people that stayed with the campaign from start to finish. This allowed for more time that my mentor and I interacted. While the others did phone calling he would talk to me about how it was important for us to constantly keeping the data charts up to date and stay organized because then if you weren't then you can get lost and the candidate and the campaign themselves would get confused and would do more work than what is needed the most. It is not right for this to happen because time is crucial and Election Day comes around before you know it.
