Blog 21: Independent Component 2

Literal:

(a) Statement: I Angel Diaz affirm that I completed my independent component which represents a complete set of 30 hours of work.

(b) My source was my mentorship with Jorge Marquez who was running for City Council for the City of Covina.

(c) log here.

(d) What I was doing during the time that I was working with my mentor was a combination of arranging lawn signs, talking to voters on the phone, or going door to door talking to high-perversity voters and trying to convince them that my candidate was the right candidate. I attended a few events, that my candidate hosted. A fundraiser, and of course a few post election events. I participated during Election Day going with co-workers poll checking and making calls the day of. Assisting with whatever was needed throughout the who process. I did my best and fortunately was trusted throughout the whole process.

Interpretive:
Defend your work and explain how the significant parts of your component and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work. Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc.) of the 30 hours of work.

- For some evidence you can click here. Jorge and a few of us helped him create a video for his campaign that he had going around a week or two before the elections to get out the vote. There is also the time that took into the independent component and you can see it here.

Applied:

How did the component help you answer your EQ or support one or more of your answers. Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped.

- How I saw this help me structure my answer or answers to my essential question is that it gave me insight as to what happens in the first part of the campaign. It helped me with all of my answers, just as a support as to what I had known/read. It sealed the deal for me because I saw the whole process work before my eyes. A candidate definitely needs a strong volunteering pond because it falls upon them to interact with the voters. Money helps the candidate spread their message to the community by creating literature pieces of background information, overall goals, and the candidates record.
